THE WEDDING CAKE
⦁ The wedding cake started with a wedding bread. The groom would take a bite from the bread, then the groom would break the loaf of bread on the bride's head to express his male dominance and state that he has dominition, control, authority, possession over the bride in the marriage. People would pick up the crumbs from the bread that would fall on the floor, thinking that the crumbs would bring them good fortune. The wedding bread turned into a wedding cake over the years.
⦁ When brides and groom saw people picking up the bread crumbs from the floor for good fortune, they started giving people slices of cakes for people to bring home with them and put under their pillow. The slice of cake was met to be eaten at night so they could have sweet dreams about the parter they wanted marry.
⦁ Over the years, the wedding cake change and so did the beliefs and traditions that came with each cakes. Today, the cake is mostly a beautiful ornament of the wedding with no meanings attached to the cake.
⦁ The role of men and women has also changed towards each other. This thing of men having authority and dominiance over women has fade away a lot. Men have started to see women as a person and not their property, their true friend, their equal but in different way. Men of today prefer true love, respect and friendship in the marriage instead of control over. Men in todays worlds choose to love their women instead of controlling their women. Men in todays world came to realize that they are happier when they truly love their women for who they are and when men truly love their women, women shine their light brighter and are much happier. When there is Love, Respect and Happiness in a marriage, the marriage is a success, last a long time and each family member is strong. Strong people equal strong community. There is hope for people from shaky and broken family, because they can learn from books to love and be love and create a very happy life. Everything is possible when you believe. You just have to ask your creator for what you want and do all the work that your creator give you to do to achieve what you want.
Wishing you the wedding of your dreams and a very happy long lasting marriage filled of Love, Joy, Prosperity, Great Health, Abundance and Friendship.
