Many of us tend to put strangers before our own selves and the people we live with such as our own family and friends. We are prone to neglect our own family to rescue strangers and acquaintances that we know nothing about. Often these acquaintances have no good intentions towards us, have no intentions of true friendship, love and respect. They are people users.
We need to learn to put boundaries for us and our family. We need to put ourselves, family and friends first before strangers. We cannot neglect ourselves nor our family and friends, because if we do, we risk of loosing them. Sometimes, families become broken as a result. Sometimes, a child or children get into trouble because parents were not there taking care of them, to rescue others instead. If you neglect to love your love ones, there might be a day where you will need them and they will be gone. The family pay the price. It's OK to say NO. Ask God to help you put boundaries for yourself and your family and God will help you. Say Thank You to God each time you ask God something believing that you have received it and you will receive it. Mark 11:24
The bible says:
- "Love others AS we love ourselves." Some people tend to forget the word "AS ourselves". We have to love ourselves before we can love others.
- "The mother takes good care of her family and is never lazy." Proverbs 31:27
- "Would any of you give your hungry child a stone, if the child ask for some bread? As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. Treat others as you want them to treat you." Matthew 7:9-12
I am no saying to never help strangers or acquaintances. I am saying to not take a pattern
at rescuing strangers at the expense of yourselves, your family and friends - neglecting yourselves, your family and friends. If people cannot respect your "no", then they are people users.
Love the one you are with also mean - Be Loyal To Your Wife/Husband. Do not cheat on each other.
