Cotton comes from a plant. This plant needs heat and moisture to flourish. Countries who produce most cotton to then export worldwide are Africa, North & South America, India and the West Indies.
The plant grows a fiber to cover the seeds inside the pod. The fiber is removed from the plant and is turned into cotton yarn.
Cotton is versatile. Cotton is spun into yarn of many thicknesses. Cotton absorb up to 45% of its own weight in moisture. Cotton is easy care. Cotton is strong, durable, washes and presses well. You can dye and print cotton easily and blend cotton with many other fibers.
Cotton 100% is the best fabric to wear in the hot summer to keep you cool. Cotton will help you stay cool. You can also wear a blend of polyester and cotton. The blend is not as efficient but it will still help you stay cool, just not as cool as 100% cotton.
