This time of the year is here again with the chilly cold weather one day and warm weather the next. I find wearing a neck warmer or scarf is sooo great at this time of the year. Scarves keeps my throat warm and prevents me from having a soar throat and ketching a cold.
One recipe for soar throat is homemade lemon juice with honey warmed up. What I do, is squeeze a fresh lemon and put it in a coffee pot along with some honey. Then, I put water in the coffee maker and press the button. Voilà, I have a pot of healthy hot lemonade to drink. Ginger is also nice to add in the pot. It works well on soar throats and when you start having this uncomfortable feeling in the throat just before starting a cold, this will prevent catching a cold.
I learned as a youth, that if I did not wear a scarf during those chilly days, that is when I was prone to catch cold. My observations thought me that was also true for others.
Some discovery I made over the years, is that if I boost my immune system in the fall, I would stay healthy when others would get sick. During all winter I stay healthy.
There are all kinds of ways that I boost my immune system in the fall. The following are some of the ways I used, that gave me great success in health:
ECHINACEA TEA. Echinacea is excellent for boosting the immune system. I read in books that Echinacea fight colds and flu, helps fight virus, is a powerful detoxifier for removing infection, help cleanse the blood and more.
COCONUT OIL. Coconut oil has many properties. It boost the immune system in human and animals, used as tooth pulling, kills parasites and more.
EXERCISE. Does not matter what kind of exercise you do, just get yourself moving. Stretching and walking are always great for all ages. When you exercise, it gets the blood flowing, creates happy harmone, a feeling of wellbeing and even boost the immune system.
EAT HEALTHY FOODS. What you put into your body plays a B-I-G role. You are what you eat. You eat junk food all the time, you will invite diseases into your body, feel tired and think negative thoughts that will not be in your favor. Eat healthy foods and your diseases will go away and stay healthy in body, mind and spirit.
If you are successful in being healthy, you will also be successful in other areas of your life, such as work. You will not miss work because you are sick.
